Geology

Short characteristics of the site: West Carpathians, Lukov beds of the Račany unit. Castellated rocks consisting of sandstones and conglomerates of the Lukov beds of the Maghura Flysch (Paleocene). Sandstones are represented by subarkoses and subgreywackes, conglomerates can be classified as petromictic. Coarse grained blocky and bouldery conglomerate also occurs with clasts as large as 50 cm across. Rocky relief originated mainly by frost weathering, highest cliff is 10 m high. This locality is protected as a Nature Monument.
